Maserati Cambiocorsa Coupe - Call 647-868-0004
Rare and beautiful Italian Race Car based on the Formula One race car designs featuring a Ferrari Engine & Ferrari F1 Transmission! This immaculate Maserati Coupe, also known as the 4200GT, blends beauty and power by taking sensuously sculpted bodywork penned by Italdesign-Giugiaro and underpinning it with a robust 4.2-liter V-8 jointly developed with Ferrari. This stunning car is equipped with the Cambiocorsa transmission. This transmission is a Formula One-inspired, paddle-shifted automated gearbox, actuated by electronically controlled hydraulics.
The Ferrari-built F136 4.2-liter, DOHC, 32-valve, 390-horsepower V-8 powerplant is original to the vehicle and displaces 4244 cc engine and develops 390 PS (287 kW; 385 hp) at 7000 rpm with a peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lbft) at 4500 rpm. The engine starts, idles, and runs like new and has been meticulously driven in the summers only and maintained by the Ferrari & Maserati experts at Daytona Auto Center in Woodbridge. The six-speed, semi-automated Cambiocorsa transaxle (rear-mounted transmission) has been serviced last year with new clutch installed and shifts and runs beautifully. It can be left in automatic mode or shifted via the steering-wheel mounted F1 paddles for more driver involvement.
Significant changes from the prior 3200 GT engine were the larger displacement resulting from an increased cylinder bore diameter and the move to a naturally aspirated intake that replaced the twin-turbo approach Maserati had used for the previous 20 years, fundamentally because the powertrain is now Ferrari based.
The engine shares many of the design features of modern racing engines, including dry sump lubrication, a pump assembly located outside the crankcase, and four valves per cylinder. The 32-valve DOHC utilizes chain-driven, twin-overhead camshafts that provide valve actuation in less than 0.15 seconds, with the intake cams being controlled by variable valve timing. The crankcase and cylinder heads are made from an aluminum and silicon alloy, giving the engine a relatively light weight of 405 pounds (184 kg).
The Cambiocorsa (Italian, meaning “race change”) is an electrohydraulic manual transmission that uses a Formula One-type gearbox with hydraulic operation and electronic management operated by F1-style paddles behind the steering wheel, similar to the system used in Ferrari vehicles.
